WCG.au Registration Guidelines

REGISTRATION NOTES FOR ALL PLAYERS:

Call of Duty 4:

All teams must arrive on Friday (August 8th) between 10am-12pm for registration. Teams that have not prepaid will need to do so at the registration desk.

All teams will most likely be playing straight away after registration, so the earlier teams arrive the faster they can setup.

Counter-Strike 1.6:

All teams must arrive on Friday between 10am-12pm for registration. All teams will play between 12pm and 1pm, so it is recommended that teams remain nearby after registration. Teams that are playing in the first round of matches will be seated as soon as they register, so early registration is also recommended.

Matches will be force started 10 minutes after their scheduled time, regardless if players are ready or not.

Once a player is dead, they must take their hands off the keyboard and mouse. Not doing so will result in a warning, followed by disqualification. This is non-negotiable.

Halo 3:

Teams must arrive by 9am on Saturday for registration. Matches will start at 10am and all teams will be playing.

Teams will only have as much warmup up to the point of their first game, so it is up to the individual teams to arrive on time. Games will be started ten minutes after the scheduled start regardless of whether the teams are ready or not.

Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne:

Players will not be allowed any warmup before their games, however they are allowed to sit down and familiarize themselves with the PC's beforehand if they wish. Their registration opens at 9am, and the first matches begin at 10am. They may be seated as soon as they register.

Players will be automatically forfeited if they are not ready for their first round ten minutes after the scheduled start of play.

Unreal Tournament 3:

Matches for UT3 will begin at 10am sharp on the Saturday, and the players, like the other games, will be allowed to sit down and setup as soon as they register. They are allowed as much time to warmup until their match is scheduled. After ten minutes of the scheduled starting time, their match will begin – if one player is not ready, he or she shall be forfeited.

Project Gotham Racing 4:

PGR4 players are required to register at 9am on the Sunday. Their matches will begin at 10am, and players will be forfeited by 10.10am.

Guitar Hero 3:

All players who have qualified for the GH3 main tournament, including those who qualify on the Saturday, will need to arrive on the Sunday at 9am for registration. They may practice as much as they like beforehand until the start of their match at 10am. Players will be forfeited if they are not ready to begin by 10.10am.

NOTE TO ALL PLAYERS:

For team-games, only the team captain is required to register the team. Should that captain be paying for the team (in the case of Call of Duty 4) then he will need to present a complete lot of $150 – change will not be provided on the day. You may, however, arrive with the entire team if you wish as you may be required to set up straight away after registration.

Please remember that the draws for each tournament are set to change due to unforeseen circumstances, forfeits or no-shows. Should the draw be changed on the day then players will be notified accordingly. If you are not able to be contacted and the draw is changed, it will go ahead without you – it is your responsibility to be at the venue for the duration of the day. Any teams or players that leave Luna Park on a day which they are scheduled to play do so at the risk of being forfeited.

Players will also be required to wear the WCG t-shirts supplied upon registration. Should players refuse, then they will be disqualified. It's as simple as that. No shirt, no play. Continued complaints will be refuted with someone else going to Germany (or taking away a good PC, or any of the other prizes).

On top of that, some of the PC's will have Windows Vista (unfortunately).

ALL PLAYERS ARE REQUIRED TO BRING ANY RELEVANT DRIVERS FOR ANY INPUT DEVICE THEY INTEND TO USE DURING THE TOURNAMENT. DO NOT BRING DEVICE DRIVERS ON A DVD OR CD-ROM, AS YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO INSTALL THEM ON THE CLIENT PC'S. THUMBDRIVES IS THE RECCOMENDED DEVICE, AS THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THE INTERNET CONNECTION AT THE VENUE WILL BE ONLINE FOR THE DURATION OF THE TOURNAMENT.

Games will not be postponed for player issues with devices or computers unless there is a severe hardware fault. It is up to the Tournament Director on the day to determine what is or is not a hardware fault and his decision is final.

Note that attending the World Cyber Games involves entering an agreement with WCG and CBN Media. Players will be provided with a document to sign on their registration – you should read this. Also, players must be available for any media interviews by third-party media, Gamestah or CBN Media if required. This is a condition of entering the World Cyber Games.
