Impact Players : Top 5
It has been sometime since the last 'In The Name of Typhrus' , so here at long last are some of the top players from the Call of Duty 2 community. As voted by some of CoD2's community leaders. Thanks to 3mclan.org for the collaborative efforts. Enjoy.
Top 5 Overall - Alpha (3mclan)

Durst
Ever since arriving on the scene during the middle stages of CoD1, Durst has had a massive impact on the Call of Duty community in one way or another. To date, he still retains this impact and his leadership and strategy skills have solidified style/f-zero to what they are today. He may not always be on top of the scoreboard, but regardless of what map you play he always has a ‘behind the scenes’ impact upon any close encounter.
Josh
An often under appreciated player, Josh has been gaming competitively around since early Quake2 days. People have always questioned his skill level in vCoD, due to his reputation for incessantly using semi-automatic and spam weapons. With the addition of the shotgun in Call of Duty 2, a gun that seamlessly integrated into his play style he is ‘twice’ as deadly.
However, while close quarter combat may be his specialty it is not his most deadly asset. In my opinion, Josh holds the title of smartest player currently playing in Auscod. There are hardly any 1v1 situations that josh doesn’t pull through, and the consistency he does it with is quite alarming.
Elite
The ex-5.56mm player has shown great stability ever since joining the ranks of style/f-zero. Always the target of plenty hacking accusations, his play style is very different and cautious often catching unsuspecting enemies off guard. Falling into the category of all-around ‘smart’ player - Elite incorporates prediction in his game to a scary level, with a surplus level of experience that is lacking in the Auscod community. Elite often knows when players will peek, where they will hide and uses this knowledge to excel in clutch situations. If he is given room to breath in the situations he ‘will’ take you down, regardless of numbers. 3v1, 4v1, no difference. If there is a weakness expected to be exploited and capitalized upon.
Beast
Hailing from real swift and eventually progressing through top tier teams such as absolute and revelry BeasT has raised from strength to strength. In the current Auscod community, no single player has as much fragging ability as BeasT. Sure he pulls a lot of insane shots, but it is once again the degree of consistency that he does it with that wins my ranking.
Frequently topping style’s scoreboard with a better f:d ratio (frag/death ratio) then any of his teammates, often surpassing his other teammates with a minimum of 10 or so kills. He has demonstrated this ability without fail in all the major competitions, WCG 2006, GA S1 and ACL-i. Although, at the current moment in time, his skill level and interest in the game seem to being waning.
Existence (AND1) & Murdz
The Brooklyn ghetto combo, take up one slot together, being so closely linked. Almost like one entity - a crazy Irish Ryan Dunn motherf***er. These two have been kicking around since the earliest vCoD days with the forming of team =m8= red and eventually combining forces with the likes of koko, zero, beast, bunnywhore, chuin, density and others to form the first incarnation of Realswift. Since that tower, they have always been omnipresent at the top of the community and to date they still remain. Uniting the un-parralled force of the AND1 connections rifle with that of SMG warrior (and not half bad rifler) Murdz (artist formally known as Ryan Dunn) they have carried the likes of rS.cod2, excess gaming and now myn to a Top 3 spots. From an aiming perspective each is at the top field of their most used weapon, not to mention the amount of nades Murdz has committed to his memory bank.
Just outside -
Raureka
A bit of surprise shock to everyone, a short stint in ACL-i Season One for RealSwift did him a world of good. The ex =NK= player has improved ‘dramatically’ since starting Call of Duty 2, to say the least. Now spearheading default_name (aka 3m.happy squad), Raureka, if on fire, can add a huge momentum for his team. A few vital picks a round can be great, but if it happens throughout all the game it can be ‘crucial’.
Often hailed as a scrim superstar and a certified team baiter, the biggest weakness Raureka seems to have is his experience in top-tier, high-pressure games. Combined with his current study schedule, he seems to float in and out of consistency. Keep your eyes peeled in GA finals, as the combination of raureka + orchard could cause a few upsets if left unchecked.
