and are holding the capability of running a lan for this years event hostage. I hold you responsible for the decline in International exposure that our great nation has to offer. You got into a business where people are incapable of going through with promises but instead of going on with the promises you were granted with hosting a 2007 qualifier you fked off to god knows where and have not done a thing about being compensated or even selling the rights to host ESWC 2008 to Any of your competition. I also hold Western Australian lanners responsible for this as well(no pun intended)

ESWC 2008 Wishfuls this year.

they SHOULD care though, as they trashed australian's hope of attending the biggest and best international tournament there is, for 2008 and maybe even further, but i sure hope that its all good for next year and #beyond... :(

how are WA lanners in any way responsible for this you complete douche. its not like we asked for it to be here. when it was here we enjoyed the thought of you guys having to spend the $700+ to get over here for once, but since most of you are poor fucks it failed miserably. since then, i dont think even one person has said it should still be here instead of over east.

i also dont think any of us have had any power over the decision.

It costs money to run ESWC - on top of buying the contract.

From an organisers point of view, its a joke of an event.

if sponsors were interested in Aus it wouldn't be a problem at all, the majority of european countries find it EASY to hold qualifiers for ESWC because there are a fair few sponsors keen to support the event (because they know about esports, have already been involved in sponsorship within esports and of course know about ESWC and how big it is)

it is lack of exposure we have down here which makes it so hard for us to put together these qualifiers. its the reason WCG is the only event that always gets held for us, its the only tournament where the organisers already help out the little guys by getting their major sponsor to give funds for the local organisers for the qualifiers

i would have thought if an ISP got heavily involved with running say .. eswc (+ online competitive gaming).. each year they could possibly pickup 100+ accounts over time through all the different games *shrug*

they manage to have people and contacts that can get them the sponsorship they need, and this is what Aus has been able to do in most years for ESWC. but it seems the people from GO3 were ignorant and very much misinformed about the funds it would take to run the event and also the logistics and personnel required.. really quite stupid taking away the contract from the people that have held numerous national events and had ran the two biggest the year before.. eswc 06 and wcg 06 *cough*

LOOKS LIKE IT'S GUNNA BE A FUCKIN MAD PARTY YEEEH BOYS.
Maybe old mate THFS can be lucky enough to score a timeslot in GO3's massively busy schedule on the "ENTROPIA UNIVERSE STAGE" to bust out some shuffz to show what gamers REALLY get up to.

That or we could just sit at home fisting ourselves which I'm sure would be more fun. GO3! can't fuckin' wait.
