CoD 2 Interview - Kedderz From United Front

After some unexpected wins over top 15 CoD2 teams, this team has gotten the attention from a lot of the top 10. Recently making the Game Arena finals, and proving there worth in 3M-Invite league. With a line up of Koticmut, Deathmist, Kudios, Necros, Jun Yuki, Kamikazee, Murderer and being led by Kedderz, this team has shown it can match it with the best teams in Aus.CoD. Each player being able to perform with any weapon makes this team one very versatile team, often surprising the opposing team with their versatility. Kedderz spoke with ESAU's Brendon Coe, about this inform team.

First of all I would like to thank you for allowing E-Sports Australia to interview you. United Front has been under quite a lot of criticism as of late. Why do you believe this is so? and how has your team coped with the pressure?

Criticism is a nice way to describe what’s been heaped on us of late. I like to refer to this as the "community" effect of COD2, basically if you’re a new clan with no players from the top 5% of Aus.Cod you receive a lot of flak. Being relatively new to the top end of the COD2 community, we've had to prove that we deserve this position and lets just say it’s been a long road. Respect has to be earned and uF has only just started being rated in a few people’s eyes. When we won the last GA match before the finals vs. Suspect on Carentan, all we got was "oh they let you win it was ladder tactics". So we put in even more effort to show that we deserved our position, and the result was 11-4 Win over Idiosyncratic on Toujane.

The team has coped adequately with the pressure applied by GA finals and from the Community of COD2. That said we have had to remove quite a few players from our team, because our clan focuses on team work not stat whoring, team work wins wars, stat whoring does not and it's that attitude that’s gotten us to where we are today. United Front doesn’t have what’s considered to be the top players, but as a unit it has the teamwork to go far.

Who has been the top player all season for United Front? Who has been clutch? Who can you always count on? Who runs the show in wars?

I run the clan on a day to day basis, from co-ordinating strategies to telling the guys what nades to create and what positions to be in. Necros and Koticmut are both leadership figures in the clan and keep order, but when it comes to picking war teams, the decision is left up to me which are picked based on the weeks practice, scrims and who played best as a team.

Being a clan based on teamwork we don’t have one person who always clutches and always comes through for us. I’m in a unique position to say that every one of my guys has gotten clutches and has top scored in one war or another. A few notable performances of the uF members;

Jun Yuki - Carentan - uF vs. HoR - First match as uF vs. a rated clan.
He had south house on lock down with pro nades and positions picked out. HoR had real problems getting into south and then planting A.

Kedderz - Carentan - uF vs. Suspect - Match that got us into the finals.
Holding Archers in this match was crucial and without fail they couldnt break through.

Deathmist - Carentan - uF vs. Suspect - Match that got us into the finals.
Positioned at South house, of which they went to once, he had the unlucky task of getting from South to the B bombsite to defuse if they got through. Although not getting many kills, 12 from memory, each one was an important kill with a memorable clutch taking place at round 12.

Koticmut - Rhine - uF vs. Excess Gaming - Elimination final 2.
Most recent match, Koticmut, stepped it up and showed he is a top class sniper. From getting random kills through smoke to taking 2-3 enemies down in quick succession, he played his roll in this map perfectly. Often silent on communications when he is concentrating but when he does have something to say it’s definitely worth listening too.
